Make an Origami Frog with a Twist

Origami Frog with LEDsAdding LEDs to an origami frog is a fun way to learn a little electronics. The frog is an easy origami pattern. Adding the LEDs is a little more complicated, and I would recommend it for anyone over 11 years, although younger kids could do it with help from an adult.

I found the original project in Make Magazine and here is the article with directions. The author, http://craftsforlearning.com/ Kathy Ceceri, is an award-winning author and crafts designer. She has several books and lots of interesting projects.

Instead of following the origami directions in the Make magazine article, I used a standard origami folding method you can find on many Youtube videos. Here is the one I used. By using the method I chose, I didn’t have to cut the paper to her dimensions. I also used copper tape with conductive adhesive instead of the aluminum foil tape. Beyond that, I followed the directions in the article. It’s a fun project and a cute little frog!
